Campsite recipe: Maple Glazed Salmon Filets

Maple glazed salmon, a very Canadian recipe
This Maple Glazed Salmon Fillets recipe embodies the essence of British Columbia's culinary landscape.

Ingredients :


  • 2 salmon fillets

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 lemon

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 2 salmon fillet

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • (Optional) sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.

 

Step by step instructions :


  • Preparing the marinade

  • Chop the garlic

  • Add the soy sauce, maple syrup and the lemon juice in a food container

  • Transfer salmon fillets to the container, ensuring both sides are coated with the marinade.

  • store in the cooler for at least 15 minutes.

  • Searing the Salmon Fillets

  • Prepare your camping stove and place the frying pan

  • Heat over medium heat and drizzle 2 tablespoons of oil.

  • Take out the salmon from the cooler and remove any garlic bits.

  • place the fillets in the pan and cook until the bottom is slightly browned, then flip and sear the other side until evenly coloured.

  • Cooking Salmon Fillets in Marinade

  • In the same pan, pour in the remaining marinade along with the garlic bits.

  • Flip the salmon once or twice to coat all sides with the sauce.

  • Add the 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt.

  • Tilt the pan and continuously spoon the melted butter and sauce over the salmon fillets.

  • Plating and Serving

  • (Optional) garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.

  • Serve with brown rice or vegetables to complement the sweet and savory sauce.
