Can I bring my pets with me in the 4X4 camper?Yes, we love pets too! To ensure their safety and the cleanliness of our vehicles, please let us know in advance if you plan to bring a pet along for the trip. We'll install our backseat cover to maintain our vehicle's pristine condition and provide dog seatbelts for their safety. For the comfort of all passengers, we accept a maximum of two dogs per rental. Please note that dogs must sleep in the designated backseat area and not on the bed.

Can I take the 4X4 camper off-road?Our vehicle is designed to travel safely and reliably on unpaved roads, however, IT IS NOT MEANT FOR EXTREME OFF-ROADING. While some forest service roads may be well-graded and gravel-covered, others can be more rugged and resemble off-road trails. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO AVOID EXCESSIVELY CHALLENGING TERRAIN. We encourage you to explore the backcountry and take the scenic backroads however we don’t want you to get stuck or damage the vehicle. If you drive off-road and get stuck or damage the vehicle you will be responsible for any expenses related to the damage (vehicle, tires, paint scratches, etc,), as well as recovery charges and any additional expenses related to getting the rental vehicle back. If you are not sure about navigating a specific road during your trip, feel free to contact us. We'll be happy to provide guidance to ensure a smooth and informed travel experience.

Can I add additional drivers?Certainly! As long as they hold a valid driver's license, you can add other drivers at no extra cost.

How does the vehicle pick-up and drop-off process work?We offer free delivery of our 4x4 campers within Metro Vancouver, as long as there is parking available. Whether it's to your home, hotel, or a local airport, we'll bring your adventure vehicle to you. On the booking page, you'll be asked to provide a pick-up and drop-off location of your choice. If you're unsure about a specific location, chat with us, and we can tailor a delivery solution for you. For YVR airport pick-up, please provide us with your flight number, and we'll meet you at your arrival gate. For the return, we'll meet you at the cell phone waiting area for the check-out and then drive you to your departure gate. The pick-up and drop-off times can be chosen between 8 AM and 7 PM. If you're not sure about the time or location at the time of booking, you can leave those fields blank and send us a message later.

Can I pick up and drop off the camper at different locations?Yes, we offer flexible pickup and drop-off options to accommodate your travel plans. It's free in metro Vancouver. If you plan to drop off the vehicle in a city outside of Metro Vancouver, simply chat with us, and we'll customize a solution for your needs.

I’ve never been camping before. Can I still rent your vehicle?Yes, of course! We've designed our camper to be beginner-friendly. We provide a comprehensive welcome guide that covers everything from planning your trip and booking a campground to setting up camp. On the delivery day, we'll give you a tour of the vehicle and provide clear instructions to ensure you feel comfortable and prepared for your camping adventure.

Can I rent the 4x4 camper if I’m under 25 years old?Yes! At Outland Adventure Vehicle Rentals, drivers 21 and older can rent our 4x4 campers. Unlike many companies that require you to be 25, we offer flexible options for younger adventurers. How many people can fit in the roof top tent?The tent sleeps 2 adults and 1 child or 2 adults comfortably. The bed is 130cm wide and 240cm long.

I want to rent the vehicle with my friends (3 adults or more), do you provide extra equipment?Yes, we do! When renting a vehicle with us, you can select additional equipment during checkout to make your trip more comfortable and enjoyable. We offer a ground tent that accommodates up to 3 adults, complete with sleeping bags, mattresses, and pillows. Additionally, we provide extra camp chairs and utensils. Simply select these items during the checkout process to include them with your rental.

Will I be comfortable sleeping in the roof top tent during colder weather?The sleeping bags provided are designed for comfort in temperatures around 5–10°C, ideal for the Pacific Northwest. For added warmth, an extra blanket is included to ensure you stay cozy, even in cooler conditions. For camping in temperatures below 0°C, our optional Cold Weather Package is available. This package includes: A thermal insulator to enhance tent warmth Two ultra-warm sleeping bags rated to -18°C An anti-condensation mat for a dry sleeping surface Please note: The Cold Weather Package is designed for two people (sleeping bags can be combined into a large one for two). The sleeping bags and insulator cannot be folded inside the tent. You can select this package on our booking page.

What should I bring for my camping trip in the 4x4 camper?At Outland Adventure Vehicle Rentals, we’ve already included everything you need for a fantastic camping experience. However, here’s a list of essential items you should bring along: Weather-appropriate layers (warm clothing, rain gear, comfortable shoes) Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) Towels Medications and personal hygiene products Sunscreen and lip balm Insect repellent Food items for easy meals that can be prepped on a stove or campfire Snacks and beverages Hiking gear, fishing equipment, or other recreational items Cash to pay for campsites and firewood Pre-downloaded maps of the area you’re visiting for offline access. Charging cables for devices (our 4x4 campers are equipped with USB, USB-C, and household plugs for convenient charging. You can also use the lantern to charge your devices in the tent.)

How are your winter rentals different from summer rentals?For winter rentals, we replace the rooftop tent with dry storage boxes and add roof bars to carry skis, snowboards, or other winter gear. The truck bed is left empty to maximize storage space for your equipment.

What winter gear and accessories are included with the rental?We equip each rental with winter tires, snow chains, ice scrapers for the windshield, blankets, gloves, and headlamps. These essentials ensure you’re well-prepared for cold-weather conditions and can handle winter roads safely and comfortably.

Can I store my winter sports equipment on the vehicle?Yes! Roof bars are available to secure skis, snowboards, or other large gear, and dry storage boxes offer protection for any equipment you want to keep out of the elements.

Are the vehicles equipped for winter road conditions?Yes, and we didn’t settle for “good enough” when it comes to winter safety! Our vehicles are equipped with premium winter tires specifically engineered for extreme cold and icy conditions. Unlike standard all-terrain or M+S tires, these high-performance winter tires deliver top-tier traction and braking performance on snow and ice, ensuring you have the safest possible setup for winter driving. Our Ford Maverick features 4-wheel drive and dedicated drive modes for slippery conditions. For navigating really deep snow, we also include snow chains, so you’re prepared for any winter conditions.

Can I rent a 4x4 vehicle for skiing or snowboarding trips?Absolutely! Our vehicles are designed to carry winter sports equipment, with roof bars for securing skis and snowboards, and ample storage in the truck bed for all your gear.

What is the cancellation policy?Adventure Essential: No refunds or date changes are available with this plan. This is how we keep our prices low for budget travellers, ensuring you get the best value for a non-flexible booking. Adventure Plus: You can cancel up to 10 days before your trip starts for a full refund, or up to 72 hours before your trip starts for a travel credit to use at a later date. Compare plans

Can I modify my reservation?Adventure Essential : Modifications to your reservation, such as date changes, are not allowed. This is how we keep our prices low for budget-conscious travelers. Flexible Adventure Plan: You can modify your reservation up to 10 days before your trip for a full refund or up to 72 hours before for a travel credit. What method of payment do you accept?We accept all major credit cards. If you'd like to pay by bank transfer or PayPal, please get in touch with us, and we can make arrangements accordingly.

Can I change my delivery or drop off address on my booking?Yes, you can change your delivery or drop-off address by sending us an email. We kindly ask that you confirm the delivery address at least 48 hours before the trip starts.

What can the gift cards be used for?Outland gift cards can be used toward any rental booking, including both of our plans: Adventure Essential and Adventure Plus. You can also apply the gift card to any optional add-ons like extra camping gear or services.

How do I redeem a gift card?To redeem your gift card, go to our booking page enter the unique code located at the back of your gift certificate (you can also find the code in the confirmation email the purchaser received). The gift card amount will be deducted from your total price.

Can I use a gift card along with a promo code?Yes, you can use a gift card with a promo code. The promo code discount will apply to the subtotal (before taxes), and then the gift card amount will be deducted from the final total (after tax).

Do gift cards expire?Gift cards are valid for 24 months from the purchase date and expire on the last day of that month. For example, if you buy a gift card in December 2024, it will be valid until December 31, 2026. Be sure to use your gift card within two years!

Can I get a refund on a gift card?Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. However, they are transferable, so you can gift them to someone else if needed.

What if I lose my gift card?If you lose your gift card or the code, contact us with proof of purchase, and we’ll help you retrieve it.

What happens if my rental costs less than the gift card value?If your rental costs less than the value of the gift card, the remaining balance will stay on your card for future use. We will include the remaining amount in the confirmation email.

Can I use multiple gift cards for one booking?Yes, you can combine multiple gift cards for a single booking, making it easier to cover the full rental cost.

How do I check the balance on my gift card?If you're unsure about the balance on your gift card, email us your gift card number, and we’ll provide the information.

Can I cancel a trip I booked using a gift card?Yes, you can cancel a trip that was paid for with a gift card. Please note that all trips, regardless of payment method, follow the same cancellation policies. When booking, you can choose between our two plans: Adventure Essential and Adventure Plus. If you cancel your trip, any amount paid will be refunded back to your gift card for future use, but the expiration date of the gift card remains the same

Do I still need to pay the security deposit?Yes, you will still need to pay a deposit when booking your trip. We require a credit card to authorize the deposit, which covers potential incidents such as late returns, damages, or missing items. The deposit will be authorized 48 hours before your trip starts, and we will contact you with a secure link to provide your card information 10 days before your trip starts.

Can my travel dates be after the gift card expiration date?Yes, you can schedule your travel dates for after the gift card expiration date, as long as your payment is made before the card expires. However, please note that if you cancel your trip, it will not be refunded.
